Terms

The short version.

These are the terms you agree to by using Movemark. We've tried to keep them actually readable — no ten-page walls of defined-term capitalisation, no hidden clauses. If anything here surprises you, email us and we'll explain it.

Mark, the Movemark mascot.
In one sentence Use Movemark for your move, pay us £4 a month if you like it, don't use it to do anything illegal or break other people's stuff — everything else is detail.

These terms are a legal agreement between you and Movemark Ltd ("we", "us"). They cover the Movemark mobile app, the movemark.app website, and anything else we make available under the Movemark name. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

1What Movemark is.

Movemark is a tool that helps you plan a house move. It generates day-by-day task lists, tracks inventory, surfaces local service providers, and shares the plan with people you invite to your move.

Movemark is not a removals company. We don't physically move your things, and we don't take responsibility for the performance of any third-party service you find through the app. Those relationships are between you and the provider.

2Your account.

You need an account to use Movemark. You have to be old enough to enter into a contract where you live (usually 18 in the UK, 16 with parental consent in some regions). Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for anything that happens under your account, so if you think someone else has got in, tell us and we'll help you lock it down.

3What you can and can't do.

You can:

  • Use Movemark for any personal move, as many times as you want.
  • Invite people to collaborate on your move — partners, flatmates, whoever.
  • Export your plan and data any time, in an open format.

You can't:

  • Try to break, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app.
  • Use Movemark to store, transport, or organise anything illegal.
  • Scrape or hammer our servers in a way that affects other users.
  • Impersonate someone else, or pretend an account isn't really yours.

If you break these rules we may suspend or close your account. We'll try to warn you first where we reasonably can.

4Payments, trials, and renewals.

Movemark is free for seven days, with every feature unlocked. After the trial, it's £4 per month or £29 per year, billed through the App Store, Google Play, or Stripe depending on where you subscribed.

Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel any time from your app-store account settings, or from Settings → Subscription if you pay via Stripe.

5Refunds.

If you subscribe and then change your mind within 14 days, write to hello@digitalhighrise.dev and we'll refund you in full — no questions, no forms. After 14 days we don't refund unused periods, but you can cancel at any time to stop future charges.

App Store and Play Store purchases are subject to their refund policies in addition to ours. They're generally stricter than we are; we'll do our best to help.

6Your content.

Anything you put into Movemark — move details, box contents, notes, photos of your slightly-too-full kitchen cupboard — is yours. We don't claim ownership of it. We only ever use it to run the product for you.

You grant us a limited licence to process that content on our servers so the app can function (syncing between devices, sending you reminders, that kind of thing). That licence ends the moment you delete the data or close your account.

7Our content.

The Movemark app, website, brand, the character called Mark, and everything you see in our interface belong to Movemark Ltd. You can screenshot Movemark to show a friend; you can't package it up and sell it, or pass it off as your own product.

8The warranty bit.

We work hard to keep Movemark reliable, but we can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Movemark is provided as is. We don't promise the app will fit any particular purpose beyond what we describe on the site.

9Liability.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Movemark Ltd's total liability to you for anything connected with the app is capped at the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the event.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for things the law doesn't let us exclude — for example, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.

10Ending the agreement.

You can stop using Movemark any time by deleting your account from Settings → Data. We can close accounts that break these terms, or shut the service down entirely if we have to — in which case we'll give you at least 60 days' notice and an easy way to export your plan first.

11Changes to these terms.

If we change anything that materially affects you, we'll email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. Smaller edits (typos, clarifications) may happen without notice, but the "last updated" date above will always reflect the current version.

12Governing law.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute that can't be sorted out over a polite email exchange will be handled by the English courts.

13Contact.

Questions? Complaints? Suggestions? hello@digitalhighrise.dev. A real person replies, usually within a day.

That's the legal bit. Now, on with the move.
